    What are some suggested materials for creating the bone model? Looks like plaster in one of the photos.

      Lisa,

      Here are some suggestions 🙂

      periosteum layer:
      tissue paper, pipe cleaners, felt, and other materials that are thin and have a soft texture
      Compact bone
      cardboard pained white or wrapped in white paper, popsicle sticks
      Spongy bone:
      sponges, crinkled tissue paper, construction paper or cardboard with circles to represent holes

    My kids had a blast completing this lesson. I was amazed to how creative they were when creating their designs.
